Review important 2nd grade math standards and skills with these hands-on and ENGAGING math center activities! These February-themed centers include 10 different math activities targeting second grade measurement, fractions, arrays, 3-digit addition & subtraction with regrouping, telling time, and more! Match the Time: Students will match the ice cream scoop (clock) with the correct time on the cone. Includes a set with time to the nearest half hour and another set with time to the nearest 5 minutes. (24 task cards each)
Comparing Numbers: Students will use the <,>,or = symbol cards to compare 3-digit numbers. Includes a set with standard numbers only and a set with standard, word form, and expanded form. (24 task cards each)
Counting Money: Students will count the coins on the cards and attach them to the correct paint bucket displaying the total value. Includes a set with coins only and a set with coins + bills. (24 task cards each)
3-Digit Addition with Regrouping: Review task cards focusing on 3-digit addition with regrouping. Includes a set with standard equations and a set with word problems. (The numbers used are the same, the formatting of the questions is different) (24 task cards each)
3-Digit Subtraction with Regrouping: Review task cards focusing on 3-digit subtraction with regrouping. Includes a set with standard equations and a set with word problems. (The numbers used are the same, the formatting of the questions is different) (24 task cards each)
Measurement Tool Sort: Students will sort through the hearts and determine if they should use a yardstick, inch ruler, or measuring tape to measure each object. Students will add the heart ‘cookies’ onto the correct baking sheet. (18 total)
Measurement Word Problems: Students will solve addition & subtraction word problems containing measurement (inches, yards, feet) Includes a set with multiple choice options and one without. (24 task cards each)
Array Puzzles: Students will connect the correct puzzle pieces to the array. Includes a set with array, repeated addition, rows & columns and a set with array, repeated addition, and multiplication. (24 total)
Fractions: Students will match the fraction strip with the correct lollipop jar. (24 total)
Measurement Using an Inch Ruler: Students will measure each object using an inch ruler. Then, they will sort the items into the correct measurement “mailbox” bag. (24 total)

- CCSS2.NBT.A.1 Understand that the three digits of a three-digit number represent amounts of hundreds, tens, and ones; e.g., 706 equals 7 hundreds, 0 tens, and 6 ones.
- CCSS2.NBT.B.5 Fluently add and subtract within 100 using strategies based on place value, properties of operations, and/or the relationship between addition and subtraction.

CCSS2.MD.C.7 Tell and write time from analog and digital clocks to the nearest five minutes, using a.m. and p.m.

CCSS2.MD.A.4 Measure to determine how much longer one object is than another, expressing the length difference in terms of a standard length unit.

CCSS2.MD.B.5 Use addition and subtraction within 100 to solve word problems involving lengths that are given in the same units, e.g., by using drawings (such as drawings of rulers) and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem.

CCSS2.OA.C.4 Use addition to find the total number of objects arranged in rectangular arrays with up to 5 rows and up to 5 columns; write an equation to express the total as a sum of equal addends.
